Rock Valley Community School District
Mission Statement

The Rock Valley School District is committed to providing all students with educational opportunities to achieve their optimum potential as citizens of a global society.
Educational Philosophy

We Believe. . .

That it is the aim of this school to provide the educational and social environment in which each student may be able to develop his/her abilities.

Our school must provide educational opportunities and programs that will produce a healthy, respectful, confident individual ready to accept responsibility and capable of living richly and creatively.

The school should take the lead in the intellectual development of the community's youth, but it should solicit the aid of, and collaborate with, other community organizations as well as the homes of the students.

That no two individuals are alike, and we believe that it is our task, within social and economic limitations, to provide adequate educational attention to these individual differences.

That no grade level or department of the school is working alone to develop specialists in each field, but rather that all are working together as members of a team, providing generalized backgrounds in a variety of disciplines.

That if an individual is to be equipped to fit harmoniously within our society, the student must experience more than the academic and social school atmosphere.  Therefore, we should provide opportunities for the student to participate in organized activities.

Our school should keep abreast of the times in all areas of instruction in order to offer a dynamic educational program.

In establishing a positive self-concept in each individual.

That the administration and school board are responsible for establishing policy, but that the students, teachers, and community serve in an advisory capacity in the decision-making process.

This philosophy should be flexible and it should be subject to modifications as the times and students change.
